Post Follow-Up: Access Your Creative Mind Pt. 2–Bring Back Your Downtime

Last week’s post on Accessing Your Creative Mind was focused on meditation. This weekend, I stumbled on a great complimentary article on the 99 percent, a site dedicated to helping creatives make ideas happen.

Article from my new favorite web site,

What Happened to Downtime? The Extinction of Deep Thinking & Sacred Space gives several great reasons and resources to bring downtime back into your daily life. I highly recommend giving it a read if you feel overworked, creatively blocked or underproductive.

The author, Scott Belsky the CEO of Behance and author of the national bestselling book Making Ideas Happen , gives five solutions for unplugging and creating a sacred place including “daily doses of deep thinking” and “protecting the state of no-intent.”

Find a way to squeeze these in your day. Share any results or insights. Always remember you deserve anything, any tool that will increase your creativity and innovation. And don’t let any corporate drone tell you otherwise!
